Hopeless Love asked:
Like almost 2yrs ago I went to a gyn appt, had a check up & winded up getting tested for everything. They took a culture and sensitivity test (cs). A few days later over that weekend, I started feeling weird and thought I had some kinda yeast infection which was a side effect from this medication I was on. Then on that monday the nurse practitioner who did my exam said I tested positive for HSV2. Of course I was shocked and devestated. But since then I have not had anything that looks like those pictures of herpes that I’ve researched. Well last week I went to a new gyn, told her I had herpes and she wanted to test me again. She called back the other day, left a mesg and said my blood work was negative and there was nothing in the blood and to try to get her the results from the culture test from 2008. So how can one test say I’m positive then 2yrs later another one say the blood was fine? What does this mean?
Ok thank you so much. I’m hoping the first test was wrong but it seems too good to be true. I tried to call the dr today but I guess they weren’t open yet and she called back and left a message saying the same thing

Tests can be a false positive, meaning that a test can be faulty. I recommend you get tested again, if it comes up negative then you can rest assured that the original test was faulty.
