My soon to be ex-husband recently told me that the dr said he has been “exposed” to HSV1 and HSV2. That he has the antibodies fo both but his test was negative. So my husband is jus stuck on the “negative” word. Im in another state for school so I told him that he needed to get the results of his test and send them to me but he wouldnt saying that the dr wouldnt give it to him and all this BS but I knew he was lying cause he’s not the smartest person in the world to think ahead about things.

I went an had a std screening and all of my tests came back negative and with no antibodies for herpes 1 or 2. The dr that I talked to also told me that you cant jus have the antibodies and have never been infected with the virus. And all the research I was fractically doin while waiting for my results I pretty much found out the same info. That “exposed” is jus a nice way of saying they do have it.

But he is constantly fighting with me that he doesnt.

So my question is if they find antibodies for hv1 and hsv2 but you test negative you can still be able to give it to someone right?

Also he told a girl that he cheated on me with that he tested positive for it? why would he tell her positive but his wife negative??? And he thinks I dont know about the girl or what he messaged her…
I need medical answers not so much about the relationship and that I shouldn’t stress about being right and all that…Woud still like to know the answer to my question

I was avirgin at the time, without any sexual contact whatsoever. Yet I had all the symptoms of the shingles. I had been working with senior citizens that summer. I was told “maybe that positive herpes result is really the varicella virus, and its the shingles that is afecting your eye but its rare because you are young”. All the while I am thinking how could the test for herpes have that broad range, and if I contracted that HSV2 disease from a roommate that had the virus that lent me her underwear one time. I have no symptoms now. The only symptom was my headache, that developed into eye pain that developed ARN and later a retinal detachment. I was given acyclovir at the hospital (where I was for a week while they were trying to figure out what I had) and then valtrex to take home. Was it herpes? was it shingles?

Sex about 4 years ago(it was without my consent, and I hate saying the R word). Three years I had been seeing this guy and decided to have sex because I wanted and because no one was frocing me to do it. Well after that i’ve had like a zillion pap smears. My first one in NoV 2003 the gyne only tested me for bacterial and HIV. Came back neg. I was still freaking out and decided to get tested again for everything! in 2004 march. I was seeing a diff gyne already. Everything came back fine. Then in 2005 I had a pap smear and everything came back fine. Now 2007, I got a new doc, the clinic just put me with a new doc, and says you have hsv2. I was sad so ******* sad. Then I got over it. Then a girl did a presentation on HPV. U can’t detect that one through blood. Now that I have the herps =( is like, my mind is making me think I have everything! So hpv! can you have normal paps, but at the same time have hpv? My next pap is tuesday!

I always vowed to tell the individuals whom I deal with about my situation up front and up until recently was very successful in letting everyone I date that I have it.. None of the men really cared anyway.. well me and my mother, whose opinion I value greatly, was having a conversation lately and she told me that as long as I was using protection and taking my medication I am not obligated to let every guy I talk to that I have HSV2. Well recently I met this guy, we had been talking for a while however I didn’t think nothing of it because when I date a guy it typically does not last long anyway so I was very hesitant about telling him and plus I felt that the right time was never there to tell him… I was very reluctant to sleep with him for a while because I wanted to tell him what was up but then one night it got hot and heavy and we just went at it….therefore I never told him prior to sleeping with him….. now we are dating…. Not for long at all but I can tell he is all that Ive been wanting in a guy … he is a good guy and we want the same things in life incl marriage. Although im 23 and hes 33 we really have a lot in common and I really like… him so now I am faced with the question, what should I do? I recently told him about the rape and his reaction could not even allow me to express the full extent of the issue… he did ask if I went to the doctor and I simply said yes…. I could not bring myself to tell this man that Ive slept with him knowing I have this please someone give me some advice….

i just recently found out that i have hsv2 (genital herpes).. i found out about a week ago.. im very paranoid now bc i feel like im dirty.. i dont want to touch myself.. anytime i do i scrub my hands.. im afraid to use the same soap for my body that i use down below.. im just really depressed.. and i would appreciate it if anyone can share some stories or facts that can maybe make me smile.. does anyone use valtrex? how well does that work for you? and if me and my boyfriend both have hsv2.. can we give e/o hsv1 by oral sex?
